Greetings from the Gosiaks!

Updated: Mar 18

Hello and welcome! My name is Kara and a working momma to TWO sets of twins. We have fraternal di/di boy twins and fraternal di/di boy/girl twins that are twenty-two months apart.

My husband and I are born and raised in the midwest. He is originally from central Minnesota and I grew up on a farm in eastern Iowa. We currently reside in Iowa near my family. My husband and I met online while he was living on the other side of the state. After talking once on the phone he wanted to drive across the state just to take me out on a date. I thought he was crazy for committing so much time for a first date. He came anyway and we've been together ever since. We were married in 2018, pregnant with our first set of twins amidst the pandemic in 2020 and they were born in February 2021. We had our second set of twins in December 2022. Between our sets of twins, my brother and his wife had identical twin boys as well. Things definitely escalated quickly! Both my husband and I continue to work full time. He is in sales and I work in education. For our family it made sense for both of us to continue to work. Working in education, I am grateful to have extended breaks with my babies.

I always dreamt about becoming a mother but never fathomed having twins, let alone two sets of twins. I found navigating twin parenthood for the first time to feel extremely isolating. Sure I had a village of family and friends who could provide support and advise, but no one who had experience raising two babies at once. I craved for a community that could relate to the unique experiences I was going through. I was able to find connection through places like Facebook groups and Instagram. The internet and social media became the place where I found people going through experiences like me. I wanted to create my own corner of the internet where twin mamas could connect, learn and grow with each other. Thank you for being here!
